About
ESBS is a inductive Bible school that runs over a nine month period of August to May. In it, we study through every book of the Bible by reading each book 5 times through, doing background reports, and interpreting through the lens of the people who it was written to and for, and then applying the timeless truths to our lives.
This blog is an outlet for the students to share what they are learning each book and how the Lord is challenging or changing them, either in beliefs or in life actively lived out.
Emmaus School of Biblical Studies has its foundations in 2 ministries: Camp Lurecrest, where it is a ministry of the camp, providing discipleship for those connected with the camp and others. Youth With a Mission (YWAM) started the School of Biblical Studies in 1981 as a means of providing their missionaries-in-training with a thorough understanding of the Bible to prepare them to be messengers of the gospel. There are 50+ SBS’s around the world on every continent except Antarctica. ESBS is an extension of SBS International, an umbrella of ministry under YWAM, but ESBS does not fall under the supervision of YWAM, and as a result, it is a program that is open to anyone, not just people who are training to be missionaries with YWAM.
